We had always heard great things about eachother but now we had the chance to mix it up and see just how awesome each group really was. This should be interesting.
The night started with the realization that we at BSG have a very recreational Halo squad. When TPA Rage entered the party with his clan mates we found ourselves simply out matched. What do you do when you’re staring across a line at a superior enemy? That’s right kids… you trade people like it’s the draft. What was originally going to be a clan Vs. clan match turned into a friendly clan mixer and I’m very pleased everyone was in agreement. I do believe it made for a much better time. After all that’s what both teams really signed up for.

After our drafts we took our teams of mutts to the snow covered goodness that is Avalance for a little King of the Hill. My team was able to secure center hill and most power weapons early on. Afterwards each hill was a battle unto itself. My team walked away with the win but we were limping. There’s nothing like watching the pile of bodies just increase like it does in King games.
Team Surgeon Wins 250 - 176

Another favorite gametype of ours here at BSG is Multi-CTF on Standoff. Typically we start by chucking every explosive we have at the enemies Warthog, grab the Laser, and proceed to pick the other squad apart with our Warthog. Things didn’t quite work out like that. This actually turned out to be our longest and most hard fought game all night. By the time everything was said and done 143 Spartans had given their life and 17 minutes of ours were gone forever.
Team Surgeon wins 3 - 2

We shuffled up the teams once more before our next game that would be Team Slayer on The Pit. This swap did not work out well for yours truely and I ended up on the wrong end of a BR holstered by some nasty TPA members. By the time I picked my face off the wall the game was over. We put in the good fight but it was not to be.
Team Surgeon loses 100 - 84

Teams stayed the same for what would be our final game. It seems every crew has their own weird gametype they love to pull out from time to time. Vip Slayer is one that is quickly becoming one of ours. Basically it’s three rounds of Team Slayer to 50 but you get extra points for killing the VIP and extra points for kills as the VIP. The whole point is to get the VIP’s to do something other than camp the whole game. Thinking back now on this game though we should’ve had ours hide out a little more.
Team Surgeon loses 144 - 86
I’d like to thank the great folks at The Panic Attacks for a great series of games. I know all of my guys had a great time and I look forward to even more mixers in the future. If anyone hasn’t checked out this group I highly recommend doing so. Also for anyone interested you can download VIP Slayer here.
